Climbing Technology’s MORFO BG carabiner is the winner of the ISPO AWARD 2024
The MORFO BG was presented to the jury of the OutDoor by ISPO trade show and won the prestigious ISPO Award thanks to the innovative BriLock Locking System: the jury was particularly impressed by it’s practicality which combines the simplicity of a screwgate with the additional security of an automatic lock. When the screwgate is closed (Neutral mode), the connector is closed and the screwgate is free to rotate on itself without the lever opening, making it impossible for the carabiner to open accidentally or involuntarily due to an impact or the rope moving. Innovation and tradition together, with safety always paramount.
At the following link you can find ISPO’s official communication about our victory.
Revolutionary semi-automatic locking gate for connectors. It combines the simplicity of use of a screw gate with the additional security of an automatic lock.
Three-movement opening mode:
● move the sleeve downwards (Fig.1);
● unscrew the sleeve (Fig.2);
● open the lever (Fig.3).
Single movement closing mode:
● screw the sleeve (Fig.1) until automatic locking is activated (Fig.2).
Advantages
● ergonomic opening, designed for ease even with just one hand or when wearing gloves;
● two-position operation: sleeve closed (neutral mode) and sleeve open (open mode);
● in the Neutral mode the connector is closed and the sleeve is free to rotate on itself without the lever opening and thus avoiding the risk of accidental opening due to vibrations, rubbing and impacts etc.
● in the Open mode the sleeve remains open to facilitate the performance of manoeuvres;
● in comparison to the classic twist-lock and triplex systems, the closure is semi-automatic and the user is not obliged to continually open the sleeve while performing manoeuvres;
● the arrow-shaped engraved on the sleeve makes the opening movement intuitive.
The new ALTIMATE harness has earned a prestigious nomination for the ISPO Award.
What motivated the jury was the versatility of this harness, designed for ski mountaineering and technical mountaineering with its innovative double configuration: The ALTIMATE harness is equipped with a toggle adjustment system that allows you to switch from the Walk/Ski to Climb mode quickly and easily without having to removing the harness and even with gloves on.
Waterproof, modular, extremely lightweight and compact, The ALTIMATE was chosen among the ISPO Award nominees as a cutting-edge product and bearer of innovation in the world of sport.

As a result of the numerous requests for information about the disinfection of equipment and personal protection equipment (P.P.E.) against Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (hereinafter named “COVID-19”), we proceed here with the following communication.
PREMISE
In order to clean equipment or P.P.E. by Climbing Technology, you must comply with the warnings provided in the instructions for use of each product.
In particular, chemicals and/or solvents should not be used on any plastic components and textile parts of the product, as they may damage the product itself and compromise its safety. The advice regarding the use of quaternary ammonium salts (dilute ammonia solution) for disinfection, provided in the instructions for use, is not recommended as it has not been verified by scientific studies regarding the sanitization against COVID-19. Other sanitization methods, such as the use of steam at temperature > 100°C (212°F) and the use of ozone, are not applicable on these products as they could cause irreparable damages to the structure of the components of the products themselves.
The only substances tested and recommended for the sanitization against COVID-19 are water and neutral soap.
The sanitization methods hereinafter listed allow you to significantly reduce the risk of contamination, but they are not 100% guaranteed as, to date, there are no reliable scientific studies about this.
EXTERNAL REFERENCES
The methods for disinfection described here use the article “Stability of SARS-CoV-2 in different environmental conditions. Lancet Microbe 2020”, as a scientific reference. To date, this is surely one of the most authoritative documents regarding the fight against COVID-19.
RECOMMENDED METHODS OF DISINFECTION
Choose one of the two methods below:
1) PERIOD OF QUARANTINE.
Leave the equipment or the P.P.E. in a well-ventilated place, away from heat sources, for at least 7 days at a temperature of ventilation not lower than 25°C (77°F).
2) HAND WASH WITH NEUTRAL SOAP AND WATER.
Hand wash the equipment or the P.P.E. in hot water, at a temperature between 40°C (105°F) and 50°C (122°F) with neutral soap (mixing 1 part of soap to 49 parts of water, in weight), during at least 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Then leave the product to dry in a well-ventilated place and away from heat sources, as indicated in the instructions for use. This washing procedure can be repeated several times as it does not alter the product’s properties. Caution! Following the washing of a P.P.E, and before its use, carry out a thorough inspection of the product as indicated in the instruction for use.
IMPORTANT! Due to the lack of established and reliable scientific studies, what is reported in this document and in the instructions for use of Climbing Technology products does not guarantee definitive and certain results in the sanitization/disinfection of the products against COVID-19.
